We were thrilled that our December giving project managed to raise $3,737 for the Cancer Council.
Members of our team and partners of Active members were up early to complete 72 holes! So proud.
In January we are raising money for Kruzn for a Kure Foundation in support of a very special little boy we know. Their mission is to spread awareness about Schimke Immuno Osseous Dysplasia, immunodeficiency, and kidney disease. They are dedicated to finding improved therapy and, ultimately, a cure, and showing support to those who have been diagnosed with rare diseases. This is our way of celebrating his 10th birthday and showing our support for him and his family.
What is the Active Giving Project?
We have always been a team that likes to give back and help others. We have changed our giving projects to be focused on one charity, event or fundraiser each month. What happens is we donate an amount of money for every new patient that attends our practice for the month, to say thank you for being a patient at Active and that we are thrilled to be working with them to make not only a difference in their lives, but others at the same time. Together we can make a difference.
As a kid and a teenager, Joe was heavily involved in almost all sports that Wagga has to offer. This time on the sporting field and the injuries that went along with it lead him into the field of physiotherapy.
Joe grew up in the region on a small farm just outside of Wagga. He completed his schooling at Mater Dei in Wagga before moving to Sydney to pursue his sporting passion.
Joe is now a proud local of Coolamon, a small town just out of Wagga and is currently a member of the mighty Coolamon Hoppers AFL club, he also loves spending time out on the golf course, water skiing and checking out the mountain bike tracks around the region.
SPECIAL INTERESTS:
Joe regularly sees a wide range of clients and has special interests in treating sports and musculoskeletal injuries, working with young athletes, strength and conditioning coaching and bike fitting.
Joe’s aim as a physiotherapist is to not just to return people to their baseline level but help them become a healthier, happier and stronger version of themselves.
WHAT HE ENJOYS ABOUT LIVING IN WAGGA:
Being someone who loves getting outdoors at any opportunity he can, he loves that the region has so many opportunities to do this with bike tracks, sporting teams, golf courses and places to go fishing, camping and skiing around every corner.
The team at Active are grateful for many things in 2021, with particular grateful to our amazing team who love what they do.
Charlotte Lymbery will start seeing patients again in Tumut from Tumut Family Medicine Practice starting from January 18 2021. Eden Bradford who has been working part-time for Active seeing paediatric patients will now be working full time. This will allow Tahnee to go on maternity leave and Eden to continue carriage of existing patients and the waiting list to be managed.

Hello 2021!
A new year often signifies a fresh start for many people. For some, this means setting new health goals, such as losing weight, following a healthier diet, or starting an exercise routine.
We love hearing all of our clients looking to take that next or extra step towards a healthier life, and we encourage you to make that goal not just an achievable one, but a sustainable one.
Your new years resolution doesn't have to be run a marathon (although we're sure we have clients who are crazy enough to do this!), here are a couple that are only small changes, that will add up to make a big difference, pick one or two for this year:
Drink a glass of water with each meal
Go for a 30 minute walk twice a week
Set a sleep routine and stick to it, aim for at least 8 hours of sleep a night
Add one extra fruit and vegetable to your day
Get outside on your lunch break, and stop eating lunch at your desk
Spend 20 minutes stretching on a Sunday
Find a new hobby that you enjoy and will get you moving
Holidays, a time to rest, relax, recover and more often than not run after the children as they find ways to enjoy the holidays: however all good things must come to an end.
Heading to school, for the first time or returning to school, meeting new classmates and teachers can be a really exciting time for your children. As parents the excitement is variable, mixed emotions of sending your youngest to school/ high school, watching them grow and develop and seeing their knowledge bases increase exponentially. Enjoy it, and even more so enjoy it without undue injury or pain.
