Paediatric Services update - Tahnee

As many of you know I have been part of the Active team for many years now. I joined the Active team all those years ago with purpose and a vision. A vision to create a service dedicated to providing therapy to children of all ages and all abilities. Many years of hard work later, here we are with a team of physiotherapists dedicated to paediatric therapy provision. I have to thank the Active team for believing in that vision and me and supporting us to create the wonderful service we have today.

We have recently said goodbye to Eden who has dedicated her time and expertise over the past 18 months and supported my clients as I went on maternity leave. We all learnt so much from Eden during her time with us. As I return to work in a reduced capacity, to manage study and raising a family,  I am so very grateful to be introducing you all to 2 new physiotherapists who have a passion for paediatric therapy, Larissa and Tayla.

Larissa Guaran joined our team in recent months and comes to us with 3 years of experience treating  a paediatric caseload.  Larissa is passionate about providing early intervention to babies, children and adolescents with developmental delays and disabilities. Larissa has completed post graduate studies in equipment prescription, pilates in children and adolescents and the management of cerebral palsy. She has recently completed a cerebral palsy course through Monash University.  The smiles of faces on family and children as they achieve goals is priceless to Larissa.

Tayla Lindner joins our team this month. Tayla  graduated from the University of Newcastle at the end of 2019 and has almost 2 years experience treating children. Tayla loves being a physiotherapist for children as she can go to work each day and help kids and families conquer their goals. Tayla enjoys helping children learn and develop new skills through play and exercise. Tayla enjoys treating babies, children, and adolescents with developmental delays and disabilities like cerebral palsy. Tayla is looking forward to supporting kids with all kinds of needs in the clinic and in an aquatic setting  Tayla also has an interest in supporting children with neurological conditions and scoliosis. Tayla is looking forward to meeting you all and being part of the Active Team and is keen to learn from the team’s range of knowledge and experience.

Caleb continues to see paediatric clients with a special interest in childhood injuries and conditions. Caleb continues to assess local dancers and work on their strength and pointe preparation and has a special interest in hand and wrist therapy.

I am currently studying my Masters of Advanced Healthcare Practice - Paediatric Physiotherapy through Monash University.  I am excited to share all the new knowledge gained with our paediatric team and look forward to supporting  professional growth within the team.   The vision for our service is expanding and it is hoped that as our team grows into the future me we can offer intensive programs. Our team is working hard on a new purpose built space which will have a dedicated paediatric space, which is very exciting so please watch this space.

Lastly, our paediatric based service would not be possible without you. Our clients. Thanks to all the families and parents who have trusted us to be their child's physiotherapist. It's an honour and a privilege and as a team we will continue to strive for excellence in the service we provide to children and families of the Riverina.
