Exciting news….

We now stock Archies thongs for kids. It is so important to look after the feet of children. These thongs are not only comfy, they are supportive of their feet.

Our golf physiotherapists, Andrew and Rhen, are specially trained to assess and treat injuries that are specific to golfers. We understand that the golf swing requires a combination of mobility, stability and power to provide the most effective result.

Therefore, we have developed a state-of-the-art golf fitness assessment inspired by the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) along with our own expertise, in order to screen golfers for any physical limitations that may be inhibiting their performance or leading to injury.

What can I achieve from a golf assessment?

The most common reason why golfer’s undertake our golf assessment is for pain relief.  However, there are many other benefits. These include:

  • Identification of the ‘why’ pain is occurring in the first place

  • Treatment of golf-related injuries

  • Injury prevention

  • Increase shot distance

  • Improve shot accuracy

  • Achieve optimal swing efficiency i.e. swing with the least amount of effort

Active Physiotherapy has a Skytrak golf simulator and an Axit device to help in your assessment. State of the art equipment.

We welcome Tahnee back from Maternity leave.

  • 2 new physiotherapists who have a passion for paediatric therapy, Larissa and Tayla.

In November we are giving to both Movember and the Pain Revolution.

Here are some photos of the past.

Physiotherapist Sophie Shephard is doing the Pain Revolution ‘Go The Distance’ challenge and pushing for 131km over October.

We are honoured and privileged to help.
Coming to work each day knowing that you not only help those who come for treatment but you help to donate to worthy causes together with your patient makes our day brighter.

We welcomed our 8th & 9th
Physiotherapy Students for the year

My name is Claudia and I am really excited to complete the last block of my physiotherapy degree here at Active Physio. I grew up just outside of Wagga on a farm and completed my high schooling at TRAC before moving to Canberra to study physiotherapy. In my spare time I play a lot of footy and love snow and water skiing.

I chose to do physio because I love helping people gain confidence in their own abilities and ultimately help to improve their quality of life.

Claudia will be under the supervision of Dave during this placement.

My name is Mitchell and I am studying physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University in Albury-Wodonga, however I am originally from Wagga. I love all things sports and I am currently involved in playing AFL. I also enjoy basketball, tennis and running.

My main interest is in sports injuries and rehab, but I have enjoyed learning about other aspects of physiotherapy, and I am eager to put the skills I have learnt into practice. I am very excited to be undertaking placement in a private practice and experience everything it has to offer.

We wanted to continue sharing a quote of the month. In times of uncertainty it is helpful to see positive quotes.

We understand how impactful unexpected kindness can be, especially in these times. Our support team looks to make a difference and has this as front of mind during their interactions with patients.

There are many different ways this can happen.

Soph is now accredited to lead Tai Chi group sessions and she is very excited about the response.

It will be run twice a week at the Victory Memorial Gardens on a Wednesday at 5:15pm and a Thursday morning at 9am. Tai Chi allows for gentle movements, may help reduce stress and anxiety and can also help increase flexibility and balance.

If you are interested in attending, call our Support Team on 02 6925 7734.

Allostasis is the ability of our body to keep our body systems operating within a “normal” range as we go through life.

This system is so advanced that it can even predict and respond to potential threats, not just events or situations that have actually occurred.

Allostatic load can be thought of as the cumulative burden or stress placed on our body to maintain “normal” function. Stress in this setting doesn’t just mean psychological stress - it also means any pressure, threat, or increased demand on our body systems.

You can read it here.

Active is now set up to provide STRIPE payments for invoices. This allows for automatic invoice payments (integrated into our software system) and immediate receipts. This is particularly helpful for telehealth services. If you would like to know more please ask our friendly support team.
