Jake grew up on a family farm in Condobolin NSW. He was heavily involved in sport throughout his childhood and youth, playing competitive cricket, rugby league and swimming.

This early engagement in sport paved the way for Jake to pursue a career in the field of human movement.

Jake completed his schooling in Condobolin prior to undertaking his undergraduate studies at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst. He completed degrees in both Exercise Science and Business Studies before once again returning several years later to complete a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2018.

Having grown up in rural NSW, Jake is passionate about increasing health service access for those living in rural and remote areas. He loves all things exercise, in particular working with disabilities and chronic disease management. Jake has a background in working within a wide range of healthcare settings, including workers compensation, occupational health and disability rehabilitation. Jake is excited to further develop his skills as an Exercise Physiologist with Active Physiotherapy and become an active member of the Wagga Wagga healthcare community.

We know how important the role is of any support team in a health business.
Our support team works hard to ensure your experience and health journey with Active Physiotherapy is positive, smooth and happy.

Who inspires you? My daughter - her innocence and her love for life.

What do you do to keep active, healthy & happy? I'm also a yoga teacher so lots of yoga and meditation - and drinking plenty of water.

What is the best advice you have been given? Chase whatever makes you feel the sun from the inside out.

What part of your job do you enjoy the most? Connecting with patients in our beautiful community - and seeing the difference we have made in their lives.

How would your friends describe you? Bright, bubbly and always up for a laugh.

Our first student for 2021!

We have our first student for 2021 starting today, and we are very excited to welcome Yoonha Sung to our practice.

Over the years we have hosted many student placements, these students are in their final year of their studies and have already completed 3 years as well as a number of clinical experience placements in different health settings. At the end of their placements with our clinic, we expect the experience to allow our students to be treating you at the same level as a graduated and fully qualified Physiotherapist.

To allow students more opportunities to learn we have a minimal cost to see the student - $20 per consultation. All consultations have close supervision and mentoring from senior team members.

We are very excited to announce we have 2 other clinical team members at various stages in their careers starting in March. It is a huge celebration for us here at Active Physiotherapy to be able to work with people that share our values and to be able to help more members of our community.

Keep an eye out in clinic for some new faces! We can't wait to introduce you to them.

March Active Giving Project

In February we raised money for Country Hope - we were thrilled to donate money to them in support of the outstanding work and commitment they make to the Families in our region.

In March we have chosen to support the Kidney Health Week which is March 15-21 2021. This was chosen in support of a long term patient and a very close childhood friend. We are honoured to have it as part of our Giving Project. Kidney Health Week is  a time when communities across the country raise awareness about kidney disease.

90% of kidney function can be lost without any symptoms &
1 in 3 Australians are at increased risk of kidney disease.

Take the Kidney Risk Test and share it with  your friends and family to encourage them to take the test

What is the Active Giving Project?
We have always been a team that likes to give back and help others. Each month we change what charity, event or fundraiser we support and for every new patient that attends our practice that month, we donate an amount of money. These donations are a way to say thank you to them for being a patient at Active and we are thrilled to be working with them, to make not only a difference in their lives, but others at the same time. Together we can make a difference.
