TAD’S Ready Set Move - ACTIVE TEAM
Ready, Set, Move is a challenge event held over 30 days in November to help kids and adults living with a disability, experience freedom of movement through cycling.
Choose to walk, run, wheel, cycle, skate, swim, golf, complete push ups or squats. Whatever your fitness levels and wherever you are you can take part.
Active is putting together a team to help raise money so another child can feel the freedom of riding a bike.
We would love our patients to join our team and you can do so by clicking here.
Please talk to your physiotherapist about how you can contribute depending on your own physical circumstances.
In August we were delighted to give to the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Foundation (SMA) on behalf of a beautiful little boy who captures the heart of all who are blessed to know him.
In September we are raising money for a local charity called BLOSS - Riverina Pregnancy and Baby Loss Support.
BLOSS provides support to people who have experienced the loss of a baby, through pregnancy, stillbirth and neonatal loss. As September is the month of Father’s Day we wanted to acknowledge the wonderful support this charity is developing for fathers who have suffered the loss of their child.
As this service has not been widely available to the Riverina, a local father decided to work with BLOSS to enable there to be someone who can attend the hospital to reach out and let them know they understand and where they can go for assistance.
We are honoured and privileged to help.
Coming to work each day knowing that you not only help those who come for treatment, but you help to donate to worthy causes together with your patient, makes your day brighter.
We welcomed our 6th Physiotherapy Student for the year.
Mickey is an international student from Hong Kong. This is his second fourth year placement. He has previous experience working in a hospital outpatient setting and a public school setting. Mickey is looking forward to learning a lot from this placement and putting his skills into practice. Mickey will be under the supervision of Paul Heffernan during this placement.
We wanted to start sharing a quote of the month. In times of uncertainty it is helpful to see positive quotes.
We understand how impactful unexpected kindness can be, especially in these times. Our support team looks to make a difference and has this as front-of-mind during their interactions with patients.
There are many different ways this can happen.
We always welcome prospective new team members. If you or someone you know might fit our team get in touch! We're always interested in chatting with new graduates (Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology) and support team members.
If you would like to know more about what Active can offer you please email our Practice Manager at mandy@activephysiowagga.com.au
Active is now set up to provide STRIPE payments for invoices. This allows for automatic invoice payments (integrated into our software system) and immediate receipts. This is particularly helpful for telehealth services. If you would like to know more please ask our friendly support team.
